Mei's Father was from the kingdom of Akaso (Japan) and the Kingdom of Chi (China). She never really got along with her younger sister Nei. But when a fire claimed the lives of their parents they were separated, Mei went to study karate with her Grandfather in the hidden dojo in the kingdom of Sandstorm while Nei went to the kingdom of Chi to stay with their Aunt Pei.

Mei learned martial arts and it was there where she first met Jason Warlock who sought the great master to teach him more about fighting and harnessing his sixth sense of danger. The first quest they went on together was to find proof to the legend that the last living heir to the kingdom of Greenpeace was still alive deep within the castle of the Wizard King.
